Dr Dennis Gross peel pads

Another ‘cult’ product that people swear by, I can see why! I’ve been using these for a few years now and they probably make it into my rotation once a week or every other week. It has a super combination of AHAs, BHA, soothing ingredients and a little bit of retinol to really get into your skin and work some magic, think of it as a little mini chemical peel at home.

I love the results this gives, it feels like a powerhouse of an exfoliater and it leaves your skins smooth, glowing and prepped for whatever you want the next day.

I also love that there are 3 strengths so you can pick whatever will suit your skin and still get the wonderful benefits. There's an ultra gentle version and also extra strength.

I don’t love the application method. You have two pads to use and you keep wiping them until they’re basically dry and the product is all gone from them. It can feel a little laborious and irritating on the skin while you wipe BUT I love the results so I keep at it.

What is it meant to do for your skin?

  • Get rid of dead skin cells

  • Help with unclogging pores

  • Help with skin tone and texture

  • Helps with smoothing fine lines

  • Helps with hydration

Key ingredients:

  • First ‘pad’ has - A combo of AHAs (glycolic, lactic, mandelic, citric acids) and a BHA (salicylic acid).

    • To help with exfoliating skin, unclogging pores, helping with appearance of wrinkles and fine lines

  • Second ‘pad’ has - Retinol, resveratrol (an antioxidant), green tea extract and chamomile

    • To help with elasticity, hydration, protecting from environmental damage, reducing irritation and soothing skin

How I use it:

  • I always use it at night so the lovely ingredients can get to work while I sleep, uninterrupted. I’ve seen people use them in the morning but given they’re actives and with the little bit of retinol, I prefer night time

  • I use it right before bed, so my routine is typically

    • Shower around 7:30pm and put something light and hydrating on like the Laneige Cream Mist

    • Before bed, use these peel pads

    • I don’t add any moisturiser or anything over it, I like for the ingredients to just do their thing

What I love about it:

I can really see and feel the difference on my skin after using these!

What I don't love about it:

I really don’t like the application method! The constant wiping feels a bit much and takes a bit of time BUT I’ve been doing it because I love the results. It also feels a little wasteful with the packaging.

Does it clash with anything?

Not that I've found yet, I don’t really layer this with anything (other than a bit of light hydrating mist a few hours before)

Where to buy:

You can get them in packs of 5, 30 or 60 from a lot of the usual suspects:

Cult Beauty - currently 15% off

Sephora

Nice alternatives:

Not seen many exfoliaters that do as much as this, I use the Alpha H in my rotation
