La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF50+ review
I will start every SPF post by saying you HAVE to wear it every day! Pleeease :). You can use all the serums, mists, oils etc. in the world but the sun will still damage your skin if you’re not protecting it. It’s especially needed after using ‘actives’ like glycolic acid, retinol etc. as they can make your skin more sensitive to the sun.
OK phew I’m done, we’re friends don’t worry. This one is in my regular rotation of SPFs, it’s got a great runny texture and isn’t overly greasy/thick which makes it perfect for the summer. It doesn’t leave a white cast and just does the very important job! 🌟
What is it meant to do for your skin?
Protects the skin against harmful UVA/UVB rays (UVA rays are the longer wavelength so they penetrate deeper into the skin and are linked to the longer term skin aging. UVB are the shorter wavelength and affect the outer layers, so they cause the sunburn!)
Key ingredients:
The very sunscreen-y ingredients - Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Ethylhexyl Triazone, Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Drometrizole Trisiloxane, Terephthalylidene Dicamphor Sulfonic Acid
Tocopherol - Vitamin E, an antioxidant that helps with protecting against UVB rays
Glycerin - for moisturising
How I use it:
EVERY DAY (if not this then another one!)
As my very last step, after all of the other skincare
What I love about it:
The texture is nice and thin so after all of my other skincare it doesn’t feel heavy or greasy. It doesn’t usually sting my eyes which is a plus too.
It also doesn’t leave a white cast on the skin.
What I don't love about it:
Nothing at all, it does a very important job
Does it clash with anything?
Not that I’ve found yet - I always use it as my last step and it always plays nice with other products
