COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence review
I know what youβre thinking, ewwww! BUT hear me out! πthis product hasβ¦ snailβd it!!
Iβve been using this serum for a few years and can say it has easily made it into my regular skincare rotation. Itβs hydrating, protecting and honestly feels lovely on the skin (donβt worry, you wonβt FEEL like a snail has graced your face).
Think of this as your hyaluronic acid step BUT with a bunch of extra benefits (on top of the very important HYDRATION) - anti-aging, protecting, skin-repairingβ¦
What is it meant to do for your skin?
Help with fading dark spots
Healing and repairing
Improve skin texture
Anti-aging (promotes elasticity and helps with skin repair, so helps to minimise appearance of fine lines and wrinkles)
Hydration
Key ingredients:
Snail Mucin (or the βproperβ name Snail Secretion Filtrate) - helps with repairing skin barrier, hydration, soothes skin, helps with collagen production
Betane - helps with hydration
Allantoin - soothing and moisturising
Sodium Hyaluronate - the salt form of hyaluronic acid, helps with hydration by acting as a humectant that attracts and hold water
Panthenol - for hydrating and soothing
How I use it:
As the βserumβ step after putting on my thin mist/essence product and before my moisturiser
I use it all year round, works especially well in winter for me when I want to lock in moisture and help with protecting against the cold weather (I loved it when skiing!)
What I love about it:
The texture is lovely and gel-like, doesnβt feel uncomfortably sticky and it definitely helps with hydration and a glow. I love layering it to really lock in moisture to hydrate.
What I don't love about it:
Nothing yet
Does it clash with anything?
Not that I've found yet, plays nice with all of the other products Iβve used so far
Where to buy:
Sephora (currently Β£20.99 here vs Β£27.99 in other places!)
Nice alternatives:
Beauty of Joseon Revive Serum Ginseng + Snail Mucin - Iβve used this and enjoyed it! Review coming on that tooβ¦
